Chana Dal Recipe


Ingredients

( 1 ) 250 grams chana dal
( 2 ) A pinch soda
( 3 ) Oil for frying
( 4 ) 1 tea spoon red chilli powder
( 5 ) ½ tea spoon turmeric powder
( 6 ) 2 tea spoon citric acid
( 7 ) 2 onion (chopped finely)
( 8 ) 2 table spoons finely chopped coriander leaves
( 9 ) ½ lime
(10) Salt to taste

Method

( 1 ) Soak the dal for 8 hours. Strain and spread on a cloth.
( 2 ) Fry it in hot oil. After each time let the oil get heated properly. Add a little soda while soaking the chana dal. Do not stir too much while frying.
( 3 ) Add citric acid, turmeric powder and salt.
( 4 ) While soaking the dal add a little soda to it. While frying the dal do not stir them constantly or it would not be crispy.
( 5 ) While serving add chopped onions and lime juice. Decorate with chopped coriander leaves.

Variation
( 1 ) Mung dal can also be made in the same way.
( 2 ) Mint chana dal :
1. Wash and dry the mint leaves.
2. Roast them in a pan without oil Cool it. Crush them and add ½ tea spoon oil.
3. Add it to fried chana dal. Add all the masalas except turmeric powder.
