Ingredients
( 1 ) 100 grams gum (pounded)
( 2 ) 100 grams ghee
( 3 ) 1 litre milk
( 4 ) 200 grams sugar
( 5 ) A few almonds (pounded) and a little khus khus (pounded)
( 6 ) 2 katori dry coconut (grated)
( 7 ) 100 grams magatari seeds
( 8 ) 1 large spoon dry ginger powder
( 9 ) 1 large spoon ganthoda powder (pepper root)
Method
( 1 ) Heat the ghee in a fry pan. If the gum is soaked in water before using, less ghee is required.
( 2 ) Add the gum to the heated ghee. Stir constantly. Add more ghee if
required. Roast the gum till it becomes light brown in colour.
( 3 ) Add milk slowly and stir constantly. Add sugar. Cook till all milk evaporates.
( 4 ) Add khus khus, almonds and coconut. When thick enough, add the remaining ingredients. Store in a container.
Note :
( 1 ) This is very good for health particularly after delivery. It is
eaten one month after the delivery. After delivery grind gum to small
pieces and soak in ghee and refrigerate.
( 2 ) It is also very good, for everybody in winter. For that it can be used immediately after soaking or also without soaking.
