Ingredients
( 1 ) 100 grams pista powder
( 2 ) 1 tea spoon crushed kesar
( 3 ) 200 grams mawa
( 4 ) 2 tea spoons ghee
( 5 ) 4 tea spoon cardamom powder
( 6 ) 125 grams sugar
( 7 ) 1 drop of edible green colour
( 8 ) 5 cherries
( 9 ) Silver foil for decoration
Method
( 1 ) Grate and roast the mawa in a little ghee. Add the cardamom powder.
( 2 ) Make three thread sugar syrup using sugar and enough water.
( 3 ) Boil till it becomes thick like a drop. Stir properly. Divide the mawa into two parts. To one part add the pista powder and green colour. Add ½ of the sugar syrup to this mixture. Spread the mixture in a greased dish.
( 4 ) To the other part add kesar and the remaining syrup. Spread this mixture above the pista barfi.
( 5 ) Decorate with silver foil. Cut them into round pieces with a round bottle lid or cutter.
( 6 ) Arrange them in paper cups. Decorate it with sliced cherries.
Note : Instead of kesar, pista colour essence may also be used.
