Spinach Soup Recipe


Ingredients

( 1 ) 500 grams spinach
( 2 ) 2 onions
( 3 ) 6 cloves garlic
( 4 ) A pinch soda
( 5 ) 1½ tea spoons sugar
( 6 ) 150 grams green peas
( 7 ) 2 table spoons corn flour
( 8 ) A little pepper powder
( 9 ) A little nutmeg powder
(10) 4 table spoons malai
(11) Fried bread pieces for serving
(12) Salt to taste

Method

( 1 ) Boil 3 glasses of water. Chop the spinach and onions finely. When the water starts boiling add the spinach, onions, garlic, a pinch of soda, sugar, green peas and salt. Boil for 5 minutes without the lid on.
( 2 ) Cool the mixture and blend it in a liquidizer and strain. Dissolve the corn flour in 1 cup water and add it to the soup.
( 3 ) Boil the soup for a few minutes. Add salt and sugar.
( 4 ) While serving add pepper and nutmeg powder. Serve hot with fresh cream and bread crumbs.

Note : ( 1 ) Cabbage, capsicums, carrots can be partially boiled with a little soda and added to the soup.
( 2 ) Boiled green peas may also be added to the soup.
