Ingredients
( 1 ) 1 cup urad dal
( 2 ) 1 tea spoon ginger-chilli paste
( 3 ) 1 lime
( 4 ) 2 tea spoons sugar
( 5 ) 1 table spoon ghee
( 6 ) ½ spoon cumin seeds
( 7 ) A pinch asafoetida
( 8 ) 4 table spoons finely chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
Method
( 1 ) Boil enough amount of water in a vessel. Add washed dal to boiling
water. Remove the dirt layer that is formed at the top while boiling.
( 2 ) When the dal is cooked, add salt, ginger-chilli paste, lime juice
and sugar. Do not over cook the dal or it will be sticky.
( 3 ) Add the seasoning of ghee, cumin seeds and asafoetida to the dal.
Decorate with the finely chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot.
